Rental Termination Letter

By | June 22, 2013

It is common for letters to give their landlords a rental termination letter in the moment when they wish to move out of the property they are currently living in. This letter should be written in a formal manner and it should include the intentions of the letter of moving out along with the reasons of their decision. A letter of this kind should include:

Dear (name of receiver),

I am writing this letter to let you know about my intention of terminating the renting of the apartment that I am currently living in at (address) starting with the end of this month.

According to the rental contract that we signed, I have to provide a week’s notice to terminate the rental of the premises. I am really sorry about the termination of the rental, but I got a job offer that I accepted in (city name) and I have to relocate as soon as possible to start working at my new job. I have no intentions of returning to the city.

This is why it is better for me to terminate the rental of the property than to leave it vacant. I will remove all my belongings until the end of this month and I shall return the keys to you until then.

Thank you for your understanding and for being a nice landlord during my tenancy and please let me know about the date of inspection.

Respectfully yours,
