Sample Scholarship Extension Request Letter:

To,

David Finch

Head Mathematics Department

Imperial College, London

Date: 5th March 2014

Subject: request to extend the scholarship

Respected Sir,

I, Mathew Johnson, the scholarship aspirant for this year’s Mathematics Scholarship am writing this letter to you to request you to kindly extend the last date of submitting scholarship application forms. I have been working very hard to obtain this scholarship for the last one year but due to health problems, I haven’t been able to frame the scholarship project and would need some additional time for it.

I would like to tell you that I have already been selected for the Graduate Program in Mathematics at your University and till 10th March 2014 have to submit my scholarship documents.  I request you to extend the last date of submission to 20th March 2014 so that I can present my project to you and do the other needful tasks as well.

I know that it will be unfair to other students who have already submitted their projects to extend the deadline but this scholarship is very important for me and losing it would mean that I would have to wait for another year to get through my dream college.

I once again request you to please consider my request.

Thanking you,

Mathew Johnson
