Sub: Complaint to the landlord

Dear Sir,

I would like to bring to your notice the ever-increasing problem of loud sounds and noises being made till late night. It has been almost 6 years that we have been living here as your tenants, and never before did we have to complain to you regarding anything. But this is something that is seriously hampering our life, and so I thought it best to write to you officially.

I understand that times are changing and the kids now love to live life to the fullest, have parties till late night, enjoy themselves as much they can and in whatsoever way they want. I also believe it is upon us to adjust with them, for we are their seniors. This is what we have been trying to do and have even done for quite a long time and I am sure you will agree to the same. But what started with “occasional parties and get-togethers” has eventually turned into an “everyday affair”. I understand that they are quite a lot of students, and are important for they account for a major portion of your income, but being tenants I believe we deserve equal rights as well. I have absolutely no problem with the late nights and other fun factors the members indulge in, but what causes a problem is the constant playing of loud music and creation of noises, followed with loud claps, dance, etc. I believe you would understand the fact that we live here with our families – parents who are aged and need solace, kids who are too small to be disturbed from studies and we even have to go for jobs at regular schedules.

It would be nice of you if you kindly look into the matter and settle this issue within at least a week.

Yours sincerely,

Tim Rogers
