Subject: Appeal for Job Redundancy

Dear Mr. Bell,

I am writing this letter to appeal against the redundancy order issued by our company vide letter number IPE-441 dated 1st October 2013. I understand that our company is going through tough times and the market conditions and outlook is not looking to improve for the next two to three years or so. Hence, the company is forced to take such harsh decisions across departments and come up with a list of projects that are not strategic for the company from a long-term perspective.

There are a total number of twenty five staff members who have been shortlisted whose positions are redundant. Among these members I am the only member who has been serving the company for more than eight years and been part of many major projects that our company has handled so far. I will face severe financial problems when I lose my job as my children and my wife who is also unemployed will face the wrath of this situation. I am agreeable to the company paying me compensation on the basis of the projects that are functional right now and will not demand the regular salary.

I therefore request you to kindly take note of all the factors that I have mentioned above and reconsider my redundancy order and revise it accordingly.
