Subject: Appeal for My Property Tax Assessment

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to appeal against my property tax assessment done by your department for this year. As per property records filed by the tax department, I have noticed following inaccuracies in the tax department calculations and also provided the actual property tax that needs to be charged:

Property Tax Levied as per Commercial rate : $ 5000

Actual Property Tax to be levied as per Domestic rate : $2500

The property tax assessment made by the officer from your department is erroneous as the rate of property tax levied is on commercial slab. The property that is in question is at address #3, New Hampshire, California, United States of America, EQ12 is a domestic property which I am using for my own stay and there is no commercial activity taking place in it. Besides even the portion of the property that is vacant has also been included for levying the property tax which is actually not permissible according the property tax rules levied by your department.

I therefore request your department to check the erroneous calculation and recalculate the property tax with the correct domestic slab and also keeping in view the vacant land usage within the premises. I request you to kindly do the needful at the earliest as I am going out of country within a week for a period of two months and would like to settle this matter before leaving.

Thanking You,

James Potter
