Engagement Announcement Letter

By | March 18, 2015

When a couple gets engaged and they want to let their friends and family know about the engagement, they send a non-formal letter to them all. The details of the engagement and the wedding to be held are usually included in the letter. Such a letter is sent before the actual wedding invitations are given out.

Letter Announcing an Engagement

Sally Turner

3211 Brandon Street,

Berkeley, California, 94276

Dear Sally,

Prior to any formal announcement of the news, Gregory and I wish to let you know that we are to be wed during the upcoming holiday. Gregory went down on one knee last week and presented me with a ring, and a question of whether I would marry him. And I said yes. James and I have been friends for a long time, but it has gone beyond friendship, and we have been dating for many months now.

It would be great if you could join us on December 23, at 3pm, in the St.Sebastian Church on East Street. It is going to be a simple ceremony with close friends and relatives. After the wedding ceremony, there is going be an evening meal and later on, a reception.

It is all happening quicker than we expected it to but we want to start a new life together as soon as possible. I will give you more details the next time we meet up.

Sincerely,

Penelope Harper,
